Visual changelogs for your Figma library publishes

Every time your design system is published, Libnotes posts what changed — added, changed, removed and breaking components, variants and styles, with before/after images — to Slack, Discord, Teams, e-mail, GitHub or Linear, and to a hosted changelog page with an RSS feed.

Connect a library — free How it works

Acme Design System published · by Ayşe · 3 added · 2 changed · 1 removed (1 breaking) + Component Badge ~ Component set Button — Size: added "XL"; removed "XS" ⚠ breaking ~ Component Card / Elevated — renamed from "Card"; description changed − Component Icon/Arrow Old ⚠ breaking [before] [after] images for each changed component

How it works

1 · Connect

Sign in with Figma and paste the link of a library file you can edit. We save a snapshot of its published components and styles and register Figma's official publish webhook.

2 · Publish as usual

When someone publishes the library, Figma notifies us. We compare it with the previous publish and render before/after PNGs of what changed.

3 · Everyone sees it

Developers, PMs and clients get the changelog where they work, plus a “ready for dev” summary that lists breaking changes first.

FAQ

What triggers a changelog?

Publishing the library in Figma. We register a LIBRARY_PUBLISH webhook on the file through Figma's official API; nothing runs inside Figma and there is no plugin to install.

What exactly is compared?

The published components, component sets (with variant properties) and styles: added, changed, removed, renamed, description changes and moves. Visual-only changes are listed too, with before/after images. Variables are listed by name — Figma only exposes variable details to Enterprise plans.

Which Figma plan and seat do I need?

Library publishing requires a paid Figma plan. Connect with an account that has a Full or Dev seat: Figma limits image renders for View/Collab seats to 20 calls per month, so before/after images would mostly be skipped.

Who can connect a library?

Anyone with “can edit” access to the library file — Figma lets editors create file webhooks. You don't need to be a team admin.

Do you store our design files?

No. We store component/style metadata (names, descriptions, keys) and the PNG renders of components that changed. Renders are kept 90 days on Free, 1 year on Pro and 2 years on Team, then deleted.

Are the image links private?

Each image has a long random URL so Slack, Discord, Teams and e-mail can show it. Anyone you share the message with can open those images. Hosted changelog pages are off by default; Team adds password protection.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. Every new account gets 14 days of Pro, then falls back to the Free plan (1 library, Slack/Discord/e-mail). No card needed for the trial.

How do I cancel?

Billing → Manage billing opens Paddle's customer portal. Cancelling stops renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. After a downgrade or cancellation your history is kept under the previous plan's limits for 30 more days, and nothing is deleted while a payment is being retried.
